How To: Capsule Wardrobe

Ever have those days where you dread walking into your closet? Picking an outfit becomes daunting when you aren’t sure how to express yourself!

I have a solution!

Two words. Capsule Wardrobe.

I’m here with the best tips to cure your outfit funk. Below you’ll find 16 pieces you can’t live without! But first, here are 3 tips before choosing pieces for your wardrobe capsule!

Let’s get to it!

1.First, Pick a style.

How many pieces do you have in your closet that have never been worn?  Guilty. Raising my hand on this end.  We are here to combat that issue. The main reason is that it’s probably not your style. Maybe it’s pink and you’re most drawn towards navy and green.  Start with a style in mind. Prints or solids? Jeans or Pixie pants?

2. What do you feel most comfortable in?

As I mentioned before, our goal is to get you out of that outfit funk! When building a capsule wardrobe, this isn’t the time to pick pieces that are hard to match. Stick to basics that make you feel put together, but still like yourself. I prefer to stick to solids, darker hues, and pieces that fit my go-to style.

3. Determine your budget.

A capsule wardrobe is an investment. The intention is to wear these pieces for a month at minimum or even an entire season. Wearing the same white t-shirt and jeans every day isn’t going to cut it. Give yourself a budget and stick to it. If you enjoy traveling, choose pieces that don’t need to be ironed every day. On the plus side, you will be able to ditch the checked bag and use a carry-on. Goodbye checked bag hassle.

Without further or due, here is my formula for a killer capsule wardrobe!

Here are 5 outfits that you can make with these 16 pieces! Don’t forget to mix and match!
